Op de Duitse website Graftschaft Bentheim staan 25 fietsroutes, allen rondjes. Vandaag fietsen we nummer 25 want die kunnen we vanuit huis beginnen. De bewegwijzering geeft heel duidelijk nummer 25 op de bordjes. Verder volg je de groene pijlen. We fietsen in omgekeerde volgorde.
Het is rond 10 uur als wij vertrekken. Het is onze trouwdag en we willen in het kasteel in Coevorden pauzeren voor een lunch. Hier zijn we 43 jaar geleden getrouwd. 

We beginnen en fietsen een stuk Pieterpad. De koeien staan lekker te grazen op het land. Vlak voor Ane moeten we rechtsaf en zo fietsen we op een mooi stukje waar we niet vaak komen. Bij Granny's Barns in Ane moeten we rechtsaf, de Vecht over en dan later links het centrum van Gramsbergen in. Hier maak ik enkele foto's. Daarna doorrijden en over het spoor bij de Mommeriete rechtdoor langs de sportvelden en dan richting de Haandrik. Daar gaan we weer het spoor over en rechtdoor. Opvallend is dat er zo veel Pieterpadlopers zijn. Normaal komen wij er hooguit 2 of 4 tegen. Nu is dat een totaal ander plaatje en het lijkt bijna of er een vierdaagse aan de gang is. Bij de hondenkennel gaan we linksaf, de oude route van het Pieterpad. Waarom de route gewijzigd is, is een raadsel want hier kom je op een gegeven moment bij de Enshoeve waar je de verhalenverteller kunt aantrappen. Bé trapt en Erik Hulsebos vertelt over de slag bij Ane. Grappig hoe het allemaal verteld wordt en de geluiden die er aan zijn toegevoegd. Het lijkt een spannend boek. Toch jammer dat dit van het pad verdwenen is. Wij gaan verder door de Groote Scheere en Het Klooster en om 12.00 uur fietsen we Coevorden centrum binnen.

Kasteel
Via de markt fietsen we door naar het kasteel, waar we in 1977 zijn getrouwd. We vragen enkele voorbijgangers of ze ons op de foto willen zetten. Niet precies hetzelfde als toen maar is wel leuk geworden toch? We vragen ons af of het restaurant open is, want er zit geen mens. We bestellen koffie en nemen plaats op het terras, maar allemachtig wat een wind hier. We gaan gauw naar binnen, annuleren de bestelling en gaan naar De Heeren. Daar is het gezelliger en binnen nemen we een lunch. Het is ook gezellig druk, maar iedereen zit op afstand en er zijn glazen schermpjes geplaatst tussen de tafels.
Het eten ziet er lekker uit, maar opeens krijg ik mijn hap niet doorgeslikt en ik heb het idee dat ik acuut ziek word. Jeetje, als de weerlicht snel ik naar de w.c. en even later spoel ik de lunch weg. Als ik terug kom aan tafel zegt Bé: misschien waren die eieren niet goed of zo. Hij had ook al aan de ober gevraagd of ze net gehooid hadden. Het spul wat op zijn bord lag was helemaal verdroogd. Volgens de ober kon je dat gewoon opeten en het hoorde zo, ook als decoratie, "maar," zei hij met een rode kop, "je hoeft het niet op te eten hoor." Wij snel afreken en er vandoor op de fiets. Ik kan voorlopig geen eten meer zien.

Emlichheim
Op weg naar Emlichheim fietsen we eerst door het Van Heutz park in Coevorden. Het is een geweldig mooi park en daar kan menig plaats jaloers op zijn. In dit park zijn toentertijd onze trouwfoto's gemaakt. Wij zoeken de locatie op bij de fontein en maken ook een paar foto's zo goed en zo kwaad als dat kan. 
Dan fietsen we langs de Klinkenflier. Eerst door de bebouwing, dan langs de recreatieplas. Ook hier enkele foto's en aan het begin van het fietspad langs het Schoonerbeekerdiep ook nog eentje en dan fietsen we een paar kilometer tot het smokkelaarsbruggetje. Hier over heen en dan fietsen we Duitsland in. Aan de Coevorden-Piccardie-kanaal maken we ook nog enkele foto's. Altijd mooi dat water en de begroeiing er in. Via een lang fietspad komen we in Emlichheim. In het dorp maken we foto's.

Terugweg
We pauzeren niet in Emlichheim maar weten een mooie plek aan de Vecht waar we vaker geweest zijn. Als we daar enkele kilometers fietsen stoppen we voor een theepauze. 

We gaan weer verder en zo komen we aan bij Laar. Althans we zien de molen en de kerk rechts van ons. De rit er naar toe vanaf de Vecht is mooi en zeer de moeite waard. Dan fietsen we richting camping Bril in Holtheme. Hier hebben we vroeger, toen we net getrouwd waren, onze stacaravan laten plaatsen. We hebben jaren plezier gehad op die camping. Nu pauzeren we op het kruispunt Rondweg, Hardenberger Diek, aan de picknicktafel voor een sinaasappel.  Tenslotte door Anevelde en langs het huis van Erik Hulsebos naar Hardenberg. We komen door Baalderveld en fietsen langs het ziekenhuis en station en gemeentehuis richting centrum en huis, waar we om 17.00 uur aankomen. Onze fietsen laten in de display 62,5 km zien.

Al met al een erg mooie dag. Straks lekker eten en dan vanavond koffie met gebak en Netflix kijken. Onze dag kan niet meer stuk.

​The German website Graftschaft Bentheim lists 25 cycling routes, all of which are rounds. Today we cycle number 25 because we can start it from home. The signage clearly shows number 25 on the signs. You also follow the green arrows. We cycle in reverse order.
It is around 10 am when we leave. It is our wedding day and we want to pause for lunch in the castle in Coevorden. Here we got married 43 years ago.

We start and cycle a part of Pieterpad. The cows are grazing on the land. Just before Ane we have to turn right and so we cycle on a beautiful part where we do not often come. At Granny's Barns in Ane we have to turn right, cross the Vecht and then later left into the center of Gramsbergen. Here I take some pictures. Then drive on and across the track at the Mommeriete, straight on past the sports fields and then towards the Haandrik. There we cross the track again and straight on. It is striking that there are so many Pieterpadlopers. Normally we meet at most 2 or 4. Now that is a completely different picture and it almost seems like there is a four-day going on. At the dog kennel we turn left, the old route of the Pieterpad. Why the route has been changed is a mystery, because here you will at some point come to the Enshoeve where you can catch the storyteller. Bé kicks and Erik Hulsebos talks about the battle of Ane. Funny how it is all told and the sounds that are added to it. It seems an exciting book. A pity that this has disappeared from the path. We continue through Groote Scheere and Het Klooster and at noon we cycle into Coevorden center.

Castle
We cycle through the market to the castle, where we got married in 1977. We ask some passers-by if they want to take a picture of us. Not exactly the same as then but has become fun right? We wonder if the restaurant is open, because there is no one. We order coffee and take a seat on the terrace, but what a breeze here. We quickly enter, cancel the order and go to De Heeren. It is more fun there and we have lunch inside. It is also pleasantly busy, but everyone is at a distance and glass screens are placed between the tables.
The food looks nice, but suddenly I can't swallow my bite and I feel like I am acutely ill. Oh dear, as the lightning I quickly go to the toilet. and a little later I wash away the lunch. When I come back to the table Bé says: maybe those eggs were not good or something. He had also asked the waiter if they had just hayed. The stuff on his plate was completely dried out. According to the waiter, you could just eat it and it should be, even as decoration, "but," he said with a red head, "you don't have to eat it." We pay quickly and run off on the bike. I can't see any food for the time being.

Emlichheim
On the way to Emlichheim we first cycle through the Van Heutz park in Coevorden. It is a very beautiful park and many places can be jealous of that. At that time our wedding photos were taken in this park. We look for the location at the fountain and also take a few photos as good and as bad as possible.
Then we cycle along the Klinkenflier. First through the buildings, then along the recreational lake. Here too some photos and at the beginning of the cycle path along the Schoonerbeekerdiep also one more and then we cycle a few kilometers to the smugglers' bridge. Over this and then we cycle into Germany. We also take some pictures at the Coevorden-Piccardie channel. Always beautiful that water and the vegetation in it. We arrive in Emlichheim via a long cycle path. We take pictures in the village.

Way back
We do not take a break in Emlichheim but we know a beautiful place on the Vecht where we have been before. When we cycle a few kilometers there we stop for a tea break.

We continue and so we arrive at Laar. At least we see the mill and the church to our right. The drive there from the Vecht is beautiful and very worthwhile. Then we cycle towards camping Bril in Holtheme. Here we used to have our mobile home placed when we were just married. We had fun on that campsite for years. Now we take a break at the Rondweg intersection, Hardenberger Diek, at the picnic table for an orange. Finally through Anevelde and past the house of Erik Hulsebos to Hardenberg. We pass Baalderveld and cycle past the hospital and station and town hall towards the center and house, where we arrive at 5 pm. Our bicycles show 62.5 km on the display.

All in all a very nice day. Soon good food and then tonight coffee with cake and Netflix. Our day cannot go wrong.
